Larry J. Soldinger, CPA


As L J Soldinger Associates’ Founder and Managing Partner, Larry Soldinger is the driving force behind the firm’s success, providing deep expertise in many areas of the industry. He is actively engaged with many clients and offers advice and services in areas which include business consulting, mergers and acquisitions, tax, public offerings, forensic accounting, business valuations, litigation-related services, and cash and pre-cash crises management.

In the area of mergers and acquisitions, Larry has completed literally hundreds of transactions. He has spent his career evaluating companies, negotiating and structuring transactions and assisting in obtaining funding for his clients. He brings vast expertise in all financial areas of transactional work for publicly held and privately owned companies, both foreign and domestic.

In addition, Larry provides advice on a wide variety of financial and tax matters to quality individual and corporate clients. He oversees evaluations of private and public companies, as well as the firm's issuances of fairness opinions. His work also includes advising clients regarding pre-cash crisis, cash crisis, turnaround and workout services, acquisition of companies out of bankruptcy, preference payment recoveries, and insolvency and workout situations. Litigation-related services for both private and public companies as well as high net worth individual include fraud detection, damages and loss determinations, as well as business valuations are also an important part of the expertise Larry has provided for LJSA clients since 1989.

Prior to opening the firm, Larry was a Senior Partner at Blackman Kallick Bartelstein (now Plante Moran) and with the legacy firm Landau & Bartelstein.

Daniel A. Wail, CPA


Daniel Wail is a Partner in the Audit and Review Services business unit of L J Soldinger Associates, and is responsible for planning, supervising, and reviewing many of the firms accounting, auditing, and due diligence engagements for both public and privately held companies, as well as employee benefit plans and not for profit organizations.

Dan joined the firm at inception in 1989, bringing with him deep knowledge and experience in many areas, including assisting our clients in filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the performance of reviews and audits of interim and year-end financial statements, and providing a number of other financial services. Accounting and audit engagements managed by Dan over his 35 years of public accounting experience include:

Jeffrey A. Levin, CPA


In his capacity as a Partner in the Audit and Review Services business unit of L J Soldinger Associates, Jeffrey is responsible for overseeing the firms SEC Division and is responsible for planning, supervising, and reviewing all of the operational aspects of his clients’ accounting, auditing, and due diligence engagements. His clients include both privately held businesses and public reporting entities. He also travels extensively throughout the world, advising the firm’s international clients.

Jeffrey’s deep experience and expertise include assisting clients in filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the London Stock Exchange, and the Oslo Stock Exchange, as well as performing reviews and audits of interim and year-end financial statements, and providing a number of other financial services such as due diligence and forensic accounting service.

Accounting, audit, and consulting engagements managed by Jeffrey over his 20 years of public accounting experience include clients in:

Mark J. Riemer, CPA


Mark Riemer is a Director of Tax at L J Soldinger Associates, and is responsible for overseeing the planning, supervising, and reviewing of all of the firm’s tax projects and tax returns for our privately held, publicly traded, and individual clients.


Mark’s experience includes assisting in strategic tax planning, tax structuring in our mergers and acquisitions department, researching numerous sophisticated tax matters, and advising on many federal and state compliance matters. Tax return engagements managed by him over his 20 years in public accounting include:

In his early career, Mark was a revenue agent for the Internal Revenue Service, and he has deep experience with individual taxation, corporate taxation, trust and estate income taxation, gift tax returns, S-Corp tax returns, partnership tax returns, and limited liability companies.


Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Creighton University, his Masters of Science degree in Taxation from DePaul University, and he is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the Illinois CPA Society.

Benjamin J. Soldinger, CPA


In his role in the firm’s Consulting, Tax, and Audit Divisions, Ben Soldinger directs a number of client engagements in many different industries. He has also established sophisticated computer and financial systems for many of the L J Soldinger Associates’ clients.

Ben has also acted as a delegate representing the firm for over 20 years in its international associations. As part of his responsibilities as a delegate, he participated in the annual general meetings of the organizations, which were held in different host countries around the world. There, he participated in exchanges of international business matters with over 100 international members.

Ben’s experience related to merger and acquisition services includes due diligence, quality of earnings, and negotiation work. He is also well versed in cash crisis management and has aided his clients in all financial matters. He has acted as an interim CFO for several clients until the position could be permanently filled.  Ben received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

Personally, Ben enjoys fitness, travel, and has extensive knowledge with wine and music.
